Awakening the Spine: Yoga in the Tradition of Vanda Scaravelli
with Kay Campitelli
Sunday, April 23, 2:00-4:00pm

Experience a unique, sustainable approach to yoga, perfect for all levels!

The yoga tradition of Vanda Scaravelli focuses on the knowledge that our bodies inherently know how to move with ease and grace. If we take the time to refine our attention and foster a willingness to be a beginner each time we come to our practice, we are intuitively guided toward stress-free, whole movement.

In this workshop, you will be led to connect with the innate intelligence of the body, working with the breath and without force or stress. Through continually developing our awareness, we learn to use the asanas (postures) as a framework for understanding connections within the body, creating a sustainable practice that can last a lifetime.

Kay Campitelli has been practicing and teaching yoga in the tradition of Vanda Scaravelli for 20 years. She studies with Diane Long, who was Vanda’s principle student. Kay teaches private lessons, group classes, and workshops. She is based in Los Angeles, California. Learn more by visiting her website: kaycampitelliyoga.com.

Yoga Nidra Workshop
with SC Nameth, assisted by Lindsay Sullivan, RYT
Sunday, May 7, 2:00-4:00pm

Yoga Nidra is the state of being between sleep and wakefulness where the relaxation response and regeneration occur. This healing practice relieves stress patterns by retraining the nervous system to relax.

The practice of Yoga Nidra is deceptively simple. Because it is taught lying down it’s appealing to people who might feel intimidated by yoga postures or traditional seated meditation. We’ll begin with some yoga poses (asana) to warm up the body, some journaling and self-reflection, then 45 minutes of divine yogic sleep (Yoga Nidra).

Stacy-Colleen (SC) Nameth is a Los Angeles native who has lived on the East Coast and abroad, returning to LA to live, work, and play. After working in social services for 20 years, she began to study stress and trauma, and discovered through research and training how the body can heal.

SC has been trained by Richard Miller in Level 1 iRest Yoga Nidra for individuals and groups. iRest is a ten-step meditation-based program that utilizes deep relaxation techniques to enhance wellbeing and emotional and mental balance. SC utilizes this technique with students and clients who have chronic illness, emotional imbalances, sleepless nights, bouts of anger, depression and anxiety, and PTSD. She also works individually with clients in LA and Pasadena as a Licensed Psychotherapist working with trauma and substance abuse, integrating prescriptive yoga and meditation into the healing process. She will be assisted in this workshop by Lindsay Sullivan, RYT.
