Practicing Gratitude: Meditation Workshop
with Micheline Vargas
Saturday, November 4, 1:30-4:00pm
Why Cultivate Gratitude?
Did you know that practicing gratitude can increase happiness? The simple act of being grateful can have a profound effect on our lives! Over two decades of research shows that people who regularly feel gratitude improve mood, reduce anxiety, build resilience, and increase joy and optimism. Gratitude has also been shown to reduce the risk of heart disease, improve sleep, strengthen connections with others, increase satisfaction in our relationships, and increase overall life satisfaction! It may be that when we practice gratitude, we are changing the brain in positive ways (positive neuroplasticity). And guess what? We can learn to be grateful.
In this workshop, you will learn:
- About the benefits of practicing gratitude.
- How/why gratitude can help reduce fear and increase joy.
- How practicing gratitude can positively impact eating behaviors.
- Evidence-based practices that can increase gratitude and happiness.
