Yoga Nidra Mini-Workshop Series

Each week in this 90-minute restorative workshop we will explore Sankalpa (​an intention formed by the heart and mind) through the practice of Yoga Nidra. 
 
Yoga Nidra, known as the yogic sleep, is a guided systematic relaxation of the neuro-muscular body to both calm and facilitate healing. Each week we explore guided visualizations to deepen your connection with your inner goals, desires, and dreams.  
 
Expect a slow-moving restorative practice before a guided meditation during savasana. If you like to journal your thoughts there will be a brief talk-back/writing opportunity following the practice. 
 
Sarah Helt is a teacher here at Spiral Path, known for her thoughtful and energetic Flow classes, and her expertise in Accessible Yoga. Sarah is a light-hearted and compassionate teacher with a fresh perspective – join her to explore this deeply restful and introspective practice!

The Body as House – Half-Day Workshop

Saturday, May 18, 1:00-5:00pm

Every body has a story, every bone a history and each muscle a pattern. Our every breath is a wind generated from thoughts and emotions – distinct, complex and emblematic.

By cultivating awareness of the subtle and unseen and developing a keener sensitivity to the felt sense and somatic we can explore the body as the conscious home of the mind. As we develop inner awareness of mind, heart and body, we increase resilience, emotional intelligence and an overall greater ease of being that is fostered organically through deeper understanding of our selves.

To explore our body as a house, this workshop will be composed of periods of silent meditation, guided mindfulness and breath awareness practices and restorative postures. There will be time for discussions and questions.

Jill Satterfield is an international embodied mindfulness and meditation teacher. Her teachings integrate mindfulness, somatic therapy and contemplative psychology. She has also been in the field of integrative healthcare for over 35 years.

Jill is a founding member of Spirit Rock’s Mindful Yoga and Meditation Teacher Training, teaches programs at Spirit Rock regularly and is a part of UCLA’s Mindful Awareness Research Center trainings. She is also a guest teacher and mentor for Jack Kornfield and Tara Brach’s Mindfulness Meditation Teacher Training. She is a graduate of Sati Center’s Buddhist Chaplaincy Training and has been featured in publications including the NY Times, Tricycle and Shambhala Sun.

This half-day workshop/retreat is open to all levels of curiosity, meditation and yoga experience.

Reiki Circle
Friday evenings 7:45pm, every other month

Come and immerse yourself in healing energy by receiving Reiki. Reiki is spiritually-guided, life-force energy, a simple and natural method of spiritual healing and self-improvement. The “Reiki Circle” is an informal gathering of Reiki practitioners offering this healing art to develop their skills. Volunteers are needed to receive Reiki treatment, so both practitioners and non-practitioners are welcome to attend!

Next Reiki Circle Date: April 19.

The Reiki Circle will take place at 7:45pm after our Friday evening Yin Yoga class, so attend class before the circle, if possible, and enhance your body’s self-healing abilities. Thanks to Reiki Master Francine Ang for organizing these Reiki Circle gatherings.
